Trip of a life time

Well this is really late, I went at the start of August but here it is, Water was higher than I'd liked, prevented me from getting to some of my favorite holes,Found one run that yielded a bull trout 10inches long, nice looking fish. but the trip had to go on, went to some areas that I could get to, caught a nice 13 inch whitefish, while my mom bettered me by a 1/2 inch with her first rockie. 2nd day went for more of a hike and found some incredible holes, yielding nothing, some big whites followed in, but were just looking, decided to go down stream and found a branch of the river, had a larger brown on but got off, around 13 inches, then found small holes, the branch of the river got very small but fished it anyways, got tons of 10 inch browns, rockies and brookies, saw a few bear prints too.

Headed back because of a storm and waited it out at the cabin, after went to a different area, and this was the start of a great day, fished these pools along the bank covered by downed trees and everything, let my spinner down and then pulled it up letting the current take it below the logs and under the bank, brought it up, a had a nice looking brown follow in maybe 12-15 inches, let it down again and bam, brown on, 14 inches, hooked very deep though, but with the magic of barbless hooks got it out, got my pic and released. Then went along the bank and got some rockies and then took a break. My dad had found a pool futher up from my holes and was reeling in fish every cast, must of got 15 fish in 10 min. all rockies.

After getting a drink I went to the same area as before, just 4 meters down, let the current take my spinner down slowly, and reeled in and there it was a fish I've dreamed of catching, a Brown that destroyed my spinner, and gave me a fight that lasted 15 seconds, I forgot to set my drag low, and it snapped off, yes i had blown my chance, I am not kidding when I say this fish was over 30 inches, I was to say the least shaking so bad that it couldn't be healthy, lol, well after that we left, no pic or witness to this fish. This was supose to be that last day, until I offered to pay one more night, I just needed another crack at that spot. We woke up and headed out, went to a new area and my dad found rockie heaven, all the fish were chunky and big 13+inches most around 14, I caught one and it got off, while my dad got several of the big ones, my mom also got some, I was at that point, pissed, lol. I finally went back to the spot I wanted, It was cloudy so it was good conditions. I went to that hole where I hooked the monster, expecting a big fish I was followed in by a rockie, remembering what happened a day earlier I set my drag low, to the point the current made my reel creek, while bringing it in my reel started screaming, I thought i was hooked on something and set my drag higher, It was a 14 1/2 inch rockie, got my pics and sent it on its way, that was filling the hole the brown left, Now go back and remember where I caught my 14inch brown under a downed tree and undercut bank, well i gave that a try, 10 mins with no luck, last cast I said, and let the spinner go, retrieved and nothing, until *huge splash* another big brown jumps a foot out of the water to grab my spinner thats out of the water, It missed, my drag was set, but no fish, This one was "smaller" maybe 25 inches, big mouth, its was amazing to see 2 of the biggest fish, possibly inthat entire river.

I'm convinced the first one was maybe the biggest in that river, who knows. Was the best trip in my life. This was over 4 days fishing, and half way through this post I stopped counting the days, thats how excited I was during this trip, I know that there isn't as many large fish in this river as the bow, but Its my bow. This is 4 days out of the year I never miss.
